Rockets fall to Raptors to end winning streak
WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points to help the Toronto Raptors get past the Houston Rockets 129-113 in NBA on Tuesday.
The Rockets star James Harden had 38 points, 11 assists and six rebounds but Houston came up short and ended a six-game winning streak.
It was even in the opening quarter before the visiting team used a big scoring effort in the second quarter to storm to 76-64 by halftime. Led by Harden, Houston clawed back in the second half but the Raptors, with help from their bench players, could always be able to pull away.
Kyle Lowry, a former Rocket, had 19 points for Toronto. C.J. Miles and Delon Wright added 19 and 14 separately.
Despite the 38 points performance, Harden shot just 8 out of 25 from the field and 3-11 from deep. Eric Gordon also struggled with his shot, going just 3-12 from the field and 0-7 from beyond the arc.
In defense, Houston allowed Toronto to shoot 51 percent from the field, and the Raptors also had a season-high 76 points in the first half in what was probably the Rockets' worst overall team effort in defense this season.
