Danzhou, located in northwest Hainan Province, is over 2,100 years old and is home to both scenic nature views and modern city streets.

Natural and cultural treasures

Located in Zhonghe Town, Danzhou City, Dongpo Academy is a historic treasure. It was built to memorialize Su Dongpo (also known as Su Shi), a great writer and poet of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). In the academy, the flowers are in full bloom, and many ancient manuscripts and cultural relics are on display in the hall, providing a record of Su Dongpo's storied academic career.
