WNBA forward Lynetta Kizer to play for Shandong
JINAN, east China, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- WNBA forward Lynetta Kizer has joined her Chinese teammates of Shandong Sports Lottery team, as WCBA opens the 2017 season on Nov. 13.
Shandong will host the Shenyang Golden Lions at coastal city Penglai of east China's Yantai city.
As a veteran forward finishing her sixth WNBA season, Kizer has proved herself. In 2017, she appeared in 20 games for the Connecticut Sun, averaging 6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Kizer also played an important role in helping Indiana Fever to the WNBA Finals in 2015 but lost the final.
"I know there are many outstanding players here in WCBA as in WNBA. My goal is to win more games and improve myelf here," said 27-year-old Kizer, who garnered rich experience from teams in WNBA, Turkish and Greek leagues.
As WNBA wraps up in early October, many WNBA players spend their offseason overseas. Kizer will compete with Sun teammates Jonquel Jones of Shanxi and Morgan Tuck from Shaanxi.
"Currently, more than 80 players from the WNBA are in action in 14 different countries across the globe," WNBA website writes.
