Bulls' Mirotic injured in fight with teammate
WASHINGTON, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic was sent to the hospital after suffering a jaw fractures in a fight with teammate Bobby Portis at practice Tuesday.
"Chicago Bulls forwards Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic had a physical altercation during today's practice," a statement released by the Bulls Tuesday evening said. "As a result of the incident, Mirotic suffered a concussion and maxillary fractures. Surgery is likely required. Mirotic is out indefinitely."
Mirotic, 26, averaged 10.6 points and 5.5 rebunds per game last season. He signed a two-year, 27 million U.S. dollars contract with the Bulls.
Portis averaged 6.9 points and 5 rebounds in his two seasons with the Bulls after being drafted 22nd overall pick in 2015.
