Lawson, Motiejunas sign with Shandong Golden Stars as teammates
JINAN, Agu.9 (Xinhua) -- Former NBA players Tywon Lawson and Donatas Motiejunas will start CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) playing days soon as teammates, as they signed with CBA side Shandong Golden Stars, according to a statement from the club on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old Lawson started his NBA career with Denver Nuggets in 2009 Draft. After six seasons in Denver, Lawson spent his time with the Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, and Sacramento Kings. Lawson averaged 12.7 points, 6 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game in his NBA time.
Lithuanian Donatas Motiejunas averaged 7.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game of his 5-year NBA experiences.
Lawson and Motiejunas played as teammates in Rockets, and now they play together again in China as teammates. Another former Rockets Luis Scola earlier joined CBA side Shanxi.
