Robin Lopez, Serge Ibaka suspended one game each for throwing punches
WASHINGTON, March 22 (Xinhua) -- The NBA announced on Wednesday that Raptors forward Serge Ibaka and Bulls center Robin Lopez each was suspended one game for throwing punches at one another during Toronto's 122-120 overtime home win on Tuesday night.
Lopez will miss the Bulls' game against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night and it will cost him $120,715. Ibaka will miss Toronto's matchup against the Miami Heat on Thursday, and he will lose out on $111,364.
It began late in the third quarter, when Ibaka threw an elbow near the back of Lopez, who took a swipe at the ball in Ibaka's hands. Then both players were swinging at the other as teammates and officials separated them. Both players were ejected for fighting following a long review.
