Lingnan University to confer honorary fellowships upon 5 ind
HONG KONG, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Lingnan University announced here Wednesday that it will confer honorary fellowships upon five distinguished individuals.
A ceremony will be held on Oct. 12, when the university confers the five persons with honorary fellowships in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their respective professions and valuable contributions to the well-being of society.
Chan Cheuk-ming became a household name for his initiative to distribute meals to the poor and homeless in Sham Shui Po, one of the poorest districts in Hong Kong. He was dubbed the "Good Samaritan of Sham Shui Po" because of his selfless benevolence.
Chan Yuen-ting is the first ever female coach to have led a professional men's soccer team to win a top-flight championship, an achievement which has earned her recognition from the Guinness Book of World Records.
