Some 93,752 high school students in Cambodia to sit for exam
PHNOM PENH, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Some 93,752 high school students in Cambodia will sit for their exams on Aug. 22 and 23 as the Ministry of Education continues to take strict measures during the test to enhance the quality of education.
Thousands of invigilators and anti-corruption officials and volunteers will be deployed at all 157 exam centers with 3,781 classes across the country to monitor the process of the exams, said a Ministry of Education statement on Friday.
Crib sheets, cell phones, smart phones and other electronic devices will not be allowed to be taken into the exam rooms, the statement said, adding that candidates will be automatically failed if he/she is caught cheating.
"There will be seven subjects for the annual exams," Ros Salin, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education, told Xinhua. Those subjects include geography, history, biology, foreign language, Khmer literature, mathematics and moral-civic education.
The results of the test will be released on Sept. 13 and 14.
The high school graduation test is a prerequisite for students to pursue their studies at university levels.
