Indonesia's top mixed doubles shuttlers eye top position in Asian Games

JAKARTA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- The mixed doubles shuttlers of Indonesia who posted the top position in the world's championship in Scotland days ago, have set a gold medal target in the Asian Games next year in the country.

Tontowi and Liliyana secured the only gold medal for Indonesia in the world badminton championships in Glasgow, Scotland.

"Our target is the Asian Games 2018 where Indonesia is as the host. Hopefully we can give a gold medal to the nation," said Liliyana on Tuesday night.

The world championship title is the second for the pair after they reaped the top honor in China in 2013.

The Asian Games 2018 is scheduled to be held in Indonesia's capital and Palembang city of South Sumatra province from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2.
