305 players from 16 countries to join badminton tournament in Vietnam

HANOI, March 10 (Xinhua) -- The international badminton tournament Yonex Sunrise Vietnam International Challenge 2017 will take place here on March 21-26, announced Hanoi Badminton Association on Friday.

As many as 305 athletes from 16 countries and regions will compete in five categories, namely, men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

The tournament has the endorsement of the Badminton World Federation and Badminton Asia, Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA quoted the organizer as saying.

The tournament offers a total prize of 200,000 U.S. dollars. Champions of singles categories will receive 1,500 dollars while couples categories will receive 1,580 dollars.
