Hunan Museum to Temporarily Change Its Closing Day
Hunan Museum will temporarily change its closing day falling on August 19 (Monday) to August 21 (Wednesday), according to a notice made by the museum recently.
The year of 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the archaeological excavation of Mawangdui Han Dynasty Tombs. An international symposium on the 50th anniversary of the archaeological excavation of Mawangdui tombs will take place in Changsha between August 17 and 20, with the aim of fully showcasing diverse achievements accomplished in the past five decades and enhancing the global influence of Mawangdui culture. The Hunan Museum, including Mawangdui tomb sites, will remain open to the public during the period.
The symposium is hosted by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, and organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Hunan Bureau of Cultural Heritage.
