Vietnam to host first world performing arts festival

HANOI, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's central Da Nang city will host the first International Theater Institute (ITI) World Performing Arts Festival in 2018, the municipal authorities announced on Friday.

The festival will be held on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of ITI which was established on July 1, 1948, and whose membership has now expanded to over 90 countries worldwide.

Becoming an official member of ITI at the 30th ITI World Congress in 2004 in Mexico, Vietnam values the organization platforms for international exchange and engagement in the education of performing arts, including theater, dance and music.
