3rd int'l experimental theater festival to be held in Vietnam
HANOI, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Around 60 plays by artists from over 20 countries and regions have registered to take part in the third international festival of experimental theater to be held in Vietnam.
According to Vietnam Stage Artists Association, the organizer, the festival will take place in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Nov. 12-19.
Among 60 registered plays, as many as 23 plays by artists from China, Japan, India, Greece, Germany, France, and Vietnam among others have been selected to join the event.
The festival will gather typically experimental plays of Vietnamese and international professional scenic art groups, which must show new discovery and bear experimental characteristic during creation process of components such as playwriting, staging, scenic design and other artistic elements, said the association on its website.
The first and the second Experimental Theater International Festival was held in Vietnam in 2002 and 2006, with participation of numerous art delegations from China, South Korea, Sweden, Laos, Cambodia, and France among others.
Since 2015, Vietnam has set to hold the festival in every three years.
