Based on research, the location of the Pavilion is exactly where Du Fu, crowned as poem saint, disembarked when he came to Changsha in 1335, and also where he lived, met friends and received gifts from ancient Tanzhou (today's Changsha) people when he was penniless and frustrated in his later years. The Pavilion during those years was constructed with the money collected by elders in Tanzhou.
Changsha's Du Fu Pavilion has become a new hit for its light-up moment. Du Fu Pavilion, standing on the bank of the Xiangjiang River, is lit up at night every day. Numerous visitors flocked to the pavilion, taking photos with their phones to record this brilliant moment.
